Satori

Hadžime jori                      From long ago
Au wa wakare                    Thought I had heard to meet
Kikinagara                          Could only mean part

Akacuki širade                    Yet I gave myself to you
Hito o koikeria                    Forgetful of the coming dawn.

(Lesley Downer: The Last Concubine)

The haiku, which I have used as the beginning my today’s contribution, was written by Sachi, heroine of above-mentioned romance, to her lover Shinzaemon. This romance is set in background of old Japan of 19th century. The forbidden love, concubines, shogun, samurais and emperor, this all had to go away. The shogun reign was coming to an end and the Japanese had to forget all these things whatever want or do not want. I read this romance in several portions and it is so far the most interesting, what I read in the last time.

And after that, this experience became an inspiration to find some similar in Second Life. SL Search is certainly the powerful tool, but one does not achieve the aim in the all things. I used the original name of Japan capital – Edo. Of course, when I ignore avatar names, the first position occupied fashion trademark of male wear “Styles of edo”. Btw., it is my favorite. However, it was not matter, because the link to EDO JAPAN sim was in tow. Firstly, I would like to say several words about Edo and then we fly there.

The castle Edo was founded at Musashi plane in 1457, but it became an official residence and capital in year 1603. The shoguns from Tokugawa dynasty governed the whole country till year 1863. The Japanese emperor held a minority role in this time and his court resided in Kyoto. When the emperor came back to the capital after the shogunate extinction, the city bore another name – Tokyo. It means “East capital” and it is till now.

Sim EDO JAPAN is rather the shopping area, but fully inspired by Japanese architecture. What all can anybody buy there?

Hairs LALA Moon trademark Prim Hair Shop
Japanaese furniture from Yamamoto trademark
Kimonos and the relevant accessories from Juno Kobo trademark

and a lot of others.

However, the old Japanese garden hided many of secrets and corners. Lonely kneeling samurai meditated in the shadows of huge sakura (Japanese blowing cherry) and in sunshine. He was protected by a watchtower and does not perceive the surrounding beauty. He thought of the only.

Her name felt on his lips. He called her to myself. However, nobody answered and only old stone lamp was shining into the night darkness.

“Maybe she appears onto water surface”, he said to myself. But only the fishes with sorrow eyes swam lazily in the small lake under sakura and not choppy surface did not tell anything about her.

The night cold drove the samurai to a house neat to fire. He decided to find her in flickering flames without his katanas and waraji.

However, the wood cracking in fire slowly cradled his mind, which dropped in beneficial sleep, and with it the whole body too. Maybe dream brings something so long desired.

The morning dawn rays wake all living creatures and also samurai up. The bird song floated in the air and bells jingle of the harness was listening. She is coming …
