Second Life 11

I have chosen today’s interesting SL places on the basis of some movie on Koinup.com. Actually, it is such archipelago of three sims – Aear – Athan – Selidor – and it also connected with trade mark Fallen Gods Inc., which sells skins, shapes, eyes and apparels. An idea of a creator is besides others shopping in pleasant and non-hectic atmosphere. So, let us go there.

Aear means in Elvish language Sindarin ocean. And really, the small island is lying in infinity blue of the ocean. Only old lighthouse with the eternal flame watches for the lost sailors and island visitors. In vain.

Athan consists of several small and two larger islands. And Gods fell to the earth and built a temple to meditate or to be reprobated. Maybe they have found what they have sought at one island in icy ocean nothingness. Only ancient trees and curious birdies remind life here.

Perhaps only Selidor reminds ancient Gods glory. It is the same as the Gods temples and steps rising up the sky, where one can touch the eternity for a while.

Omega Point

Today I have found in some tip in one Email from New World Notes and have tested it immediately. It is wonderful. The whole article is here.
The whole sim, Omega point, was created by Japanese resident Sweetlemon Jewel during two month. Although it is detailed designed with high graphic quality, she admits herself that she is not any game developer and furthermore she is disappointed with her creation. It is not truth the sim is fantastic.
She loves sci-fi and fantasy and maybe she was inspired by Ridley Scott movie Alien, where H. R. Giger, Swiss surrealist, sculptor, painter and designer, created extraterrestrial world. The sim is to be explored, but there are several style shops. Individual places connect a teleportation system.
So look, explore and be amazed!

Second Life 10

So, today I have achieved the 10th contribution about the interesting places in Secon Life. Time to celebrate! Ah no, only joke, of course. It is not really about the interesting places that I found, but I would like to introduce to you some project that is related to this theme. The name of the project is Koinup. It is “The Social Network for your Virtual Life” as propagates one of the heads at the first webpage. The next one is saying: “The best Places of Virtual Worlds. Meet Avatars, share your Virtual Life.” The registration is not a condition, but you can obtain the following advantages:

  • to upload up to 1.5 GB of contents, for free!
  • to have your personal webpage
  • to comment Koinup contents and add tags to your friends works
  • to enjoy the lively social life of Koinup
  • to become the coolest Koinup member!

The sharing does not concern only Second Life, but also The Sims 2, World of Warcraft, IMVU, OpenSim, Lively, vSide, Kaneva, There and The Other Words.
There is a news for SL users. Ii is possible to buy a HUD on Xstreet for 0 L$. If you wear it, you can explore the world of SL and find out, if somebody added or took pictures of given sim to Koinup. The HUD control is very simple and it is described in the attached notecard.
Are you some character that likes to explore and search new places in SL? Or are you another character that does not like to do it? So Koinup is just for you with all possibilities! Enjoy it!

Prince of Tide

It is a strange name for this contribution. It is suggesting the movie The Prince of Tides, where Barbra Stresisand and Nick Noltie played the mine roles. However, this similarity is pure coincidental. Prince of Tide is a title, which was given to me in some game that I am playing in Second Life. Yes, the different games could be played in-world, e.g. adventures, classic board games like chess, realm games etc. I am Prince Coral Ducatillon of Swank. Look on the map, where we are.
And what is it? It is multiplayer game named Tiny Empires, which takes place in medieval England in period of 1100 – 1300 CE. One takes in essence some HUD, which is free and after you have 10 acres, the full prize HUD is necessary to continue.
One can earns income from your land and from your subjects. The income can be up to 30 gold per acre. Of course, buy prize per acre will increase with increasing of your land. The riddles or contests are other possibilities to gain gold. The trader is the highest aim to obtain different advantages, but he come once a time and you pay plenty of money. So, you can move up from Wanderer over Peasant, Squire, Knight, Baron, Viscount, Count, Marquis, Duke, Prince to King. There are analogous ranks for ladies. Your land increases also by connection of other players with lower ranks.
It is the game with social implicit meanings. You have to communicate with others; you meet them and make friendship or enmity. Your land has neither some physical nor SL look, but it exists as virtual. It is little fun.

Sculpture Exhibition

I have received an information about following exhibition: “The Collector: The World of Second Life Sculpture”. The exhibition takes place in Galerie de la Vie on Artemisia from February 12 to March 26. It is a sculpture collection of Sichel Seifert from different authors. The collection began in year 2005 yet. It is only a selection, which will be presented for three weeks. The authors did not exhibit ever together.

Attention! The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first one will be opened today and the second one on March 6.

The opening with the night reception is between 4:00 and 6:00 pm SL time. I think it will be fantastic. The whole news is here on Secondlife Newspaper.

Sploder

Saturday (7.2.) was for me very pleasant day both in RL and in SL after long time. In the morning, I was talking well to my mother and I was cooking a dinner at this time. In the evening, I was again in SL and had a good time.
The Neko Party began in CcaS Club at about 7 pm our time (GMT +1). I am personal not a sympathizer of this style, but it does not mind me. But I was surprised that Rolo Smith in Neko style is dancing at one of the rods and he was not alone. Lukas danced together with Rolo at one rod. It was nice view as people remarked. I joined on the dance floor and danced solo. Other was coming later, tradition in our club, and I switched to the free rod. Then several people appeared and Lukas changed to be shirtless. Rolo and I followed him. However, Lukas vanished and other began to disappear with him. At once, Rolo, I and one of my best friends – Pavel Stransky – stood all alone in the club. Pavel decide himself to join us. He was also shirtless later and took chic glasses, which increased his image, because he is looking as a just new avatar. It had to be crazy view. Three guys were dancing in the absolutely empty club. Rolo cast “nets” and lured ladies to party and to us. It worked and ladies came. And party could begin, but it was still silence. Nobody wanted to chat public only through IM. I decided to go to other party, which began at 8 pm (GMT +1). So, I said good bye and flew.
It was ALCHEMY party in the Warehouse Plaza. I was never there. Therefore, I was curious. The subtitle of this party was: “Four Elements – earth – water – air – fire”. I did not see such party for a long time! There were a lot of people, which had obviously a good time not only on the dance floor, but also through the local chat. Text rolled so fast that I did not follow it, even if I have got my chat window to spread over the whole height of my screen. I was bit late, so I danced and listed music. The contest slowly finished and new notice was coming that the party will continue in other club with theme of blue and white. So I moved by several tens meters to the club, which was dedicated to the water element. Then the party started. There were rather much people and a lot of lags, because several avatars used some effects. So, I froze three times, but I did not regret it. I took the contest and played few times with a sploder.
The sploder is some thing of different shapes. One pay it some sum of lindens, for example a minimum is 20 L$, and after certain time, e.g. 360 s, the sploder randomly gives out total sum from all players to each of them by a mysterious key in my opinion. I knew this thing from earlier, but I was so surprised at the party, how the sploder was filling with lindens by high speed. There was over 2.000 L$ in one run!!!!!!!! Cool! Simply the dancers did not deal with it, pay 100 and win 10. So what? All enjoyed, we have the party. This is what I think is missing at our parties in the Czech and Slovak community. Even though I had to go before the announcement of the results of competition and before midnight, I was hugely “charging” with positive energy that emanated from all. It reminded me good old era of the original X-Club at Bohemia and later his followers at Angara. How is it possible that we are not able to enjoy so well in large numbers. Thematic parties have been well-known. Something has changed and I do not know what. Therefore, pulling me where there are really something going on.

Second Life 9

It is again one rainy and darken day outside in RL. And the raindrops are falling same heavy as on Trigger sim. Weather and the darkness are same in all times, but there are a lot of things to discover here. The medieval buildings look gloomy, but they have the fantastic interiors, which should be discovered. There is the gorgeous Gothic cathedral. It is still opened and has an interesting underground. The road is edged by the spreading old trees and by the street lamps. When you enter the high tower, you can teleport stepwise right to the upper floor and look around. Maybe you spot a lonely ship. Perhaps it is waiting for the valiant sailor to put to sea. The harbor house contains a small secrecy inside. Of course some club does not miss here, even if it is too cold for my liking. A little of fire never harm and sitting by the fireplace on the fantastic sofa completely improves my first impression of this place. There are several shops of brand name Kalnins – nice designed glasses and shoes. There is also some shop with weapons, where they have some staircase like for the giants. Who would like to win some lindens, he/she can try to beat some of the automats. I have tried that too, but unfortunately I have not wined. So, I have given me joy buying new shoes! And how can one reach this place? Well, we apply our good well-known teleport!

Language

One byword says: “How many languages you know, so much times you are human being”. This sentence exactly describes an avatar’s role, when a communications is needed. It is not possible to be, to live or only to create anything without any knowledge of whichever language. Native one is no any exception. I have first-hand experience of that after my birth here myself. How and where what to find, all only in English. Btw. English is no problem for me. And it is evidence that I installed Czech version of the SL client, but later I was back to English one. Do what can be the best than speaking with somebody using native language for her/him and foreign for you. And if you use written form, at the same time you learn write correctly. Oh, how English or German helped me in many situations and my friendlist is long just due to them. Why could one avatar make poor herself/himself in consequence of no communication with others? Sure, sometimes it does not work. You do not know specific language. However, some extrasensory communication could exist also here in SL. The plains of SL do not have to be so empty and avatars to be alone in mixture of voices and sounds such as this old locomotive somewhere in the fields.
